The changing phases

Still I remember me as a small fluttering girl

Worriless hurry less child bubbling with giggles

Burdened in no way and no hurdles in my way

Grumbled never as days were always gay

Dressed in glazing glittering attires

Flying like butterflies with youthful wings

Smiling ever like an angel, a bloomed flower

Those wonderful days evergreen in my thoughts

Time dashed in a rush, womanhood pushed in

Dreams so many blushed but were to be hushed

\With burdened shoulders and bound to many bonds

Life was no more fun, but strong enough not to shun

Now sitting here in solitude I look back in anguish

Just one among the multitude, nothing great to relish

Still never I sob or throb for a better life

As life turns bitter when we mutter in waste

Worst become best, when mind beholds it bravely

Worst gets worsened, when mind evades it cowardly

It was with positive promises, we bade goodbye
When parted after two years of togetherness
“Will keep in touch though not in sight”, Alas!
Promises are like prophecies, seldom realized.

My village –A recollection

The grassy road took me to the vibrant lake flowing so calm and serene
Stood there for a while inhaling the sweet smell carried by the breeze
Found some jubilant half naked kids, jumping and diving into the lake
The tacit thoughts of childhood days rushed in, sighed in utter remorse
The fire was there ever within me to return and recapture the lost heaven
At last I cuddled into the lap of my village, a dream knotted long before
The grassy bed invited me to stretch on, looking at the sky I just relaxed.

The vanishing Grandmas

My grandma
The night was calm and cool, perfect for a sound sleep .But my son was disturbed and complaining, “not feeling sleepy”. I was so tired after the day’s work, so patted him and once again doomed into deep sleep.

As if in dream, I could hear someone weeping. That brought me back to senses. My son was standing near the window and crying. I rushed to him to find, what went wrong. He was staring at the stars and tears flooding down his cheeks.

After the day’s routine hubbub

I squeezed some time for a stroll

Roamed through the empty street

To reach the silent meadow

Stretched on the grassy carpet

Eyes set at the dark sky

With stars blinking here and there

Mild wind stirring the leaves

My mind so wild urging for release

With closed eyes I let loose my thoughts

To rewind and forward

In solitude, with nothing much to do

We tend to rewind with numbing nostalgia

‘Past’ is always present in our minds

Kindling and kidding in intervals

Childhood was carefree and careless

No troubles to torment or worries to wreck

Knowing and learning new and novel things

Sprightliest days nothing so lively hitherto

Youth splashed with a bang, sweet and sunny

With dazzling thoughts and dauntless mind

Dreamt a lot and achievements were not less

Days of love and romance still trigger a tickle

The darling dreams!

Lying prostrate with nothing to bother about

With hands clasped behind sheltering the head

Eyes closed or opened, thoughts meandering

Who won’t cherish for a winged tour with dreams
