The Best at last

death at last
Failures were not few

But were in rows

Idle never I sat

Though dullness drained me off

Set backs made me sullen

Saddled though I remain

Smiles were quiet seldom

Stealthily I even cried

She was always there to pat

“Something better on the way”

Days danced away quietly

None of my dreams realized

At last now in my deathbed

Engulfed by the close ones

She staring with swollen eyes

Drew her near and whispered

“See, now the Best is at the door ”

No more I have to wait”

Death is never a solace or solution

But remains always a fatal blow.
